FRANCOIS XAVIER POIZAT

Born in Grenoble in 1989, François-Xavier Poizat started the piano at the age of four. From 1999 to 2005 he studied with Alexis Golovine at the Geneva Conservatory. Since 2005 he has been studying with Evgeni Koroliov at the Hamburg Hochschule für Musik und Theater. Martha Argerich and Nelson Goerner also regularly give him advice. He gave his first recital in 2001 at the age of eleven. Since then he has performed in Switzerland, France, Germany, Russia, Poland, Canada, China and Japan, for famous festivals including the Pacific Music Festival, Progetto Martha Argerich and La Roque d’Anthéron. He has also appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Toulouse Orchestre national du Capitole, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with leading conductors, among them Thierry Fischer, Philippe Béran, Neeme Jarvi, Łukasz Borowicz and Marek Pijarowski, and has been the winner of a number of international competitions in Germany and Russia.
