GEVORG HAKOBYAN Born in 1981 at Metsamor in Armenia, Gevorg Hakobyan completed his studies at the Yerevan Conservatory in 2004 under the guidance of Sergey Danielyan. In 2000 he won the Isahakian National Singing Competition and from 2003 was a soloist with the Yerevan Theatre, where he sang in Rachmaninov’s Aleko, Chukhajian’s Arshak II and Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta. In 2007 he sang in oratorio and opera in London at St John’s, Smith Square, and in 2006 he received a prize from the President of the Armenian Republic. Further awards include first prize and gold medal in the Pavel Lisitsian International Competition.
