GIANPIERO RUGGERI The lyric/dramatic baritone Gianpiero Ruggeri made his début as Belcore in Donizettiʼs Lʼelisir dʼamore, drawing attention for his exceptional dramatic talent, and was invited by Gustav Kuhn to appear as Olivier in Richard Straussʼs Capriccio at the Teatro Regio in Parma. His international career has seen him starring in Detroit, Cologne, Tokyo, Beijing, France, Spain and Germany in works such as Il barbiere di Siviglia, LʼItaliana in Algeri, La Cenerentola, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, La traviata, Falstaff, Pagliacci and La bohème. In 2011 he sang Vêpres siciliennes in the Naples Teatro San Carlo and Roméo et Juliette in the Verona Arena.
