Grace Davidson studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She is now a popular soloist with a particular affinity to the Baroque and Renaissance periods. She performed Fauré’s Pie Jesu on BBC TV’s Sacred Music series with The Sixteen and Harry Christophers, with whom she has also recorded Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Monteverdi’s Selva morale e spirituale (Coro). Other recordings include Bach’s Matthew Passion for Ex Cathedra (Orchid), Allegri’s Miserere for both The Sixteen (Universal) and for Tenebrae (Signum Records). She appears regularly with saxophonist Christian Forshaw and features on his albums Renouncement and Midwinter. She is featured soloist on Eric Whitacre’s Light and Gold album (Decca), and records movie soundtracks, often working with prominent composers and movie studios. Grace Davidson took part in Joby Talbot’s new ballet score Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for The Royal Ballet, and 2012 highlights include Bach’s St Matthew Passion for Phillipe Herreweghe in Europe and the United States, and Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas throughout Canada for The Theatre of Early Music.
