Veronika Groiss was born in Gomel, Belarus, where she started to study choral conducting. In 1997 she graduated at the Music Academy in Minsk and after moving to Vienna continued her studies of solo singing at the Vienna Conservatory, completing them in 2006. She attended a master-course with Helena Lazarska and, simultaneously, she attended singing master-classes with Patricia Wise, Axel Gall, Robert Holl, Otto Schenk and Barbara Bonney. She is a laureate of important international vocal competitions, including the Nico Dostal Competition and International Hilde Zadek Competition, and was a prize-winner in the 2010 International Brahms Competition. Her career, mostly in Austria and Germany, has brought appearances in opera and operetta.
