HANNU KOIVULA Hannu Koivula was born in Finland and gained first class diplomas at the Sibelius Academy both in trumpet and conducting. After winning first prize at the Nordic Conducting Competition he has held the position of principal conductor in nine Scandinavian orchestras including the Gävle Symphony Orchestra and Danish Radio Sinfonietta. He is currently artistic director of the Vaasa City Orchestra, Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker and Jönköping Sinfonietta. Koivula has also been a frequent guest in Scandinavian and German opera houses and has been acclaimed for his wide repertoire recordings.
