Shana Blake Hill has won acclaim as a multifaceted performer in operatic and orchestral repertoire. Following her début with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Bright Sheng's The Phoenix under Charles Dutoit, The Saratogan wrote: "Shana Blake Hill was amazing in this very difficult soprano role…her richly colored tone lent dignity and a sense of awe to the tale … she was a mesmerizing presence."  Career highlights include the title rôle in Susannah, Rosalba in Daniel Catan's Florencia en el Amazonas, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Bruckner's Te Deum, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Mahler's Fourth Symphony, and Mozart's Great Mass in C minor. As a resident artist with the Los Angeles Opera she has appeared in Die Zauberflöte, Peter Grimes, La bohème, La Cenerentola, and Le nozze di Figaro, and world premières of On Gold Mountain and Florencia en el Amazonas. Born in North Carolina, Shana Blake Hill received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, and is an Alumna of the Los Angeles Opera’s Resident Artist program.
