Born in Greece in 1968, Iannis Leonidakis started his studies at the Athens Music Conservatory and continued at the Brussels Royal Conservatory (Belgium) where he graduated with several degrees, among them Conducting Orchestra and Composition. He participated in several master classes in Europe and the US by well known conductors and educators and began an academic career while maintaining his conducting activities. As a soloist at the beginning but shortly after as a conductor, he worked with several vocal and instrumental ensembles in Belgium as well as abroad. His interest in education has led him to work with many young artists and be invited regularly to work with diverse youth ensembles. In 2007 he recorded with the Flanders Radio Orchestra and Jose Van Dam for EMI; since 1998, along with his conducting activities, he has been conducting the choirs and teaching composition at the International School of Brussels.
