Javier Franco was born in La Coruña and has appeared at the Liceu de Barcelona, the Verdi of Sassari, Auditorio of La Coruña, the Madrid Zarzuela, São Carlos in Lisbon, Campoamor in Oviedo, the Teatro Comunale of Bologna, the Madrid Teatro Real and Auditorio Nacional, the Verdi in Salerno, Biwako Hall in Otsu and Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo, the Municipal of Santiago de Chile, Principal of Palma in Mallorca and the Valencia Palau de les Arts.

He has sung with Renato Palumbo, Steven Mercurio, Roberto Tolomelli, Reynald Giovaninetti, Jesús López Cobos, Gomez Martinez, Maurizio Benini and Nir Kabaretti, among others. His principal appearances include Il trovatore (Conte di Luna), Le Villi (Guglielmo), Faust (Valentin), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro), Montsalvatge’s Babel 46, Lakmé (Frédéric), Luisa Miller (Miller), La Bohème (Marcello), Roberto Devereux (Duca di Nottingham), La Rondine (Rambaldo), Pagliacci (Silvio), La traviata (Germont), Don Pasquale (Dottore Malatesta), Un ballo in maschera (Renato), La fille du régiment (Sulpice), and Lucia di Lammermoor.
