The baritone Jens Hamann was born in 1975 in Stuttgart and was a member of the Stuttgart Hymnus Choirboys, the Stuttgart Chamber Choir and the Gächinger Kantorei, completing his studies in 2007 with Rudolf Piernay at the Mannheim Musikhochschule. His performances have included participation in the Stuttgart European Music Festival, the Swiss Boswiler Master Concerts, Saarland Tagen Alter Musik and the Vatican International Festival of Sacred Music. He has a number of international prizes to his credit and his recordings include Michael Haydnʼs Requiem, which won the MIDEM Classical Award in 2007.
