JIANG-QING QU Qu Jianqing
Qu Jianqing is a distinguished yangqin (Chinese zither) soloist
with the Shanghai National Orchestra, which she joined in 1978, at the age of
thirteen. She was chosen Shanghai Young Artist of 1980 and two years later won
the National Instrumental Solo Competition. A pupil of the most distinguised
Chinese teachers, she has toured widely abroad and in 1990 gave the first performance
of the Yellow River Concerto in its version for yangqin in Singapore.
