Joan Ribalta was born at Sabadell, in Catalonia, and studied there at the conservatory, completing his training with Joan Cabero and Enrica Tarrés in Barcelona and then at the Ecole Normale de Paris, where he graduated with distinction. He was a prizewinner in the Eugenio Marco Competition in Sabadell in 2000, and won the main prize in the Third International Belcanto Competition in Bad Wildbad, among other awards. His rôles have included Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola), Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Tonio (La fille dú régiment), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), and the Italian Tenor (Der Rosenkavalier), among many others.
