The most prominent woman composer in Brazil, she has composed six major operas and music-theatre pieces, acclaimed through several productions in different countries. In 2007 the International Festival of Campos do Jordão, São Paulo centred on her works as the sole contemporary composer in residence, presenting her operas and works for chamber and symphonic concerts. In 2008 the Technologic Museum Oi Futuro, Rio de Janeiro, presented a major retrospective of her works in the format of installations, video shows, concerts and operas, presented over two months for about 25,000 people.
