Since his graduation from the Royal University College of Music in Stockholm in 1993 Johan Christensson has steadily established himself as one of the leading and most sought after tenors in the field of concert and oratorio. He has collaborated with many of Scandinavia’s most prominent orchestras and conductors in works by Bach, Mozart, Handel, Haydn and Britten, and has dedicated himself especially to the study and interpretation of the Evangelist parts in the Christmas Oratorio and Passions by J.S. Bach. As an opera singer he regularly collaborates with theatres such as Drottningholm Court Theater, the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, Piteå Chamber Opera and Folkoperan in Stockholm. His appearances in opera have ranged from Monteverdi and Mozart to contemporary composers such as Thomas Adès, Philippe Phénelon, Jan Sandström and Carl Unander-Scharin.
