JORGEN MESSERSCHMIDT  

While studying musicology at the University of Copenhagen, Messerschmidt was active as jazz pianist/composer with his own groups Contempo Trio and Jørgen Messerschmidt Quartet. Graduated 2001 in composition from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen as a pupil of Ib Nørholm, Niels Rosing-Schow and Hans Abrahamsen. He has written works for Ars Nova, Danish Philharmonic Orchestra and the Esbjerg Ensemble. Jørgen Messerschmidt is further active in computer-based electro-acoustic music.
