JUAN MIGUEL HERNANDEZ

In September 2009 Canadian born violist Juan Miguel Hernandez was awarded the First Prize at the 16th International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria, adding to other top prizes won at the National Canadian Music Competition, and the 9th National Sphinx Competition in 2006. As a featured guest soloist, he has appeared with the Atlanta, Seattle and Colorado symphonies, as well as the Rochester Philharmonic. Performances have taken him on tour throughout Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Canada and the United States, collaborating with artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Lynn Harrell, Robert Spano, Paul Coletti, Robert Chen, Ronald Leonard and Paul Katz. Juan Miguel Hernandez is a founding member of the Harlem Quartet.
