KAREN WIERZBA Karen Wierzba’s solo career began when Seiji Ozawa gave her the title rôle in Poulenc’s Les mamelles de Tirésias at the Tanglewood Music Centre when she was 23 years old. This was followed by Handel’s Rodelinda at Marilyn Horne’s Music Academy. She sang Poppea from Handel’s Agrippina at the Glimmerglass Opera with Harry Bicket, Parsifal and Carmen with Barenboim in Berlin, Der Rosenkavalier with Conlon at the Paris Opéra, Jeanne au bûcher with Rilling in Stuttgart, Rigoletto with Levi in Amsterdam, and The Magic Flute with Minkowski in Montpellier.
