KYLE DZAPO Kyle Dzapo, Professor of Music at Bradley University and Principal Flautist of the Peoria Symphony, enjoys a career as teacher, performer, scholar, and speaker. She has presented recitals in Denmark, at London’s St Martin-in-the-Fields, at Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium, and on live broadcasts for WFMT’s Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series and Wisconsin Public Radio’s Sunday Afternoon Live. As the foremost authority on Joachim Andersen, she has given presentations at conferences of the American, German, and British flute associations. Her publications include new editions of Andersen’s Salonstücke, Op. 52, and Fünf leichtere Stücke, Op. 56, for his original publisher, Zimmermann of Frankfurt, the book Joachim Andersen: A Bio-Bibliography, and articles for journals of the American, British, and Finnish flute associations. She is a pre-concert lecturer for the Chicago Symphony and New York Philharmonic and was recognized with her university’s highest award for research in 2007. She holds degrees from Northwestern University, New England Conservatory, and the
University of Michigan.
