Portuguese baritone Luís Rodrigues appears regularly at the S. Carlos Opera Theatre in Lisbon, with rôles such as Count Robinson, Harlekin, Ping, Figaro, Guglielmo, Marcello, Alfio, Gianni Schicchi and Escamillo. Other rôles include Marcello and Germont, Figaro, Papageno, the Forester in The Cunning Little Vixen, Belcore, Don Giovanni, Escamillo, Scarpia and Iago, and parts in operas by Britten, Henze and Hindemith. His interpretation of Semicúpio in the Portuguese baroque opera Guerras do Alecrim e Mangerona won him the most important Portuguese press award for classical musicians, the Prémio Bordalo – Casa da Imprensa.
