MARC MEGELE Marc Megel studied the oboe at the Cologne Hochschule für Musik und Theater and Engineering Science at the Munich Technical University. His vocal training began at the Bavarian Singing Academy with Hartmut Elbert, followed by study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater with Gabriele Fuchs and later with Sylvia Greenberg. He has participated in master-courses with Brian Zeger, Margo Garrett and Rudolf Piernay. At the Bavarian Theatre Academy he has appeared in Rossini’s La Cenerentola and as the Sultan in Gluck’s Die Pilger von Mekka at the Prinzregententheater, the Theater Ingolstadt and the Theater Nürnberg. In 2008 he took the part of Tamino in a Hochschule production of Die Zauberflöte, Ferrando in Così fan tutte at the Pasinger Fabrik and Acis in Handel’s Acis and Galatea. Engagements took him in 2007 with the Ensemble Soluzione to the Festival in Schwetzingen and with the Simon Mayr Chorus to the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo. In 2006 he made his début as the Evangelist and in the tenor arias in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.
