Marco Berrini is one of the most active choral conductors in Italy today. A graduate of the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Milano, where he studied piano, conducting, composition and musicology, he went on to receive first prizes in numerous national and international conducting competitions. He was a finalist in the Mariele Ventre competition (Bologna, 2001) where he was awarded the third prize (tie). From 1989 to 1992 he was deputy director of the Italian national broadcasting network (RAI) Chamber Choir in Rome, with which he made recordings for RAI Radio-3. He edits choral scores for several publishers, including Suvini Zerboni, Carrara, Rugginenti, Discantica, and Carisch. He is also a regular jury member for various national and international choir competitions. Currently a professor of choral music at the Conservatorio Antonio Vivaldi di Alessandria, his conducting includes the direction of a number of ensembles.
