MARCO FILIPPO ROMANO

The baritone Marco Filippo Romano studied the horn at the Bellini Conservatory in Palermo and singing with Elisabeth Lombardini-Smith. His engagements have included the rôles of Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) in Venice, Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) in Munich, Geronimo (Il matrimonio segreto) at the Stresa Festival, Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore) at the festivals in Taormina and Trapani, Don Gregorio in Pedrotti’s Tutti in maschera in Savona, Piacenza and at the Wexford Festival, Presto in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias in Sassari, Dancario (Carmen) in Novara, Massa Marittima and San Gimignano, Vertigo in Offenbach’s Pepito in Navaro, Mamma Agata in Donizetti’s Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali in Pisa, Lucca and in Livorno, Don Pasquale in Munich, and Schaunard (La bohème) in Venice. As well as undertaken leading rôles at Wildbad, he has appeared as Barone di Trombonok (Il viaggio a Reims) in Madrid, Taddeo (L’Italiana in Algeri) in Florence, Bologna, Piacenza and Oviedo, Slook (La cambiale di matrimonio) in Venice, Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in Florence, Genoa, Savona, Bergamo, Rovigo, Lucca, Pescara, Malta, Manila, Oslo and Malta, Don Profondo (La Cenerentola) in Bologna and Ormondo (L’inganno felice) in Venice. In Pesaro he sang Raimondo Lopez in Matilde di Shabran and in 2013 Taddeo (L’Italiana in Algeri) in Turin.
