MARGARET JANE WRAY Margaret Jane Wray is earning international recognition as a brilliant jugendlich-dramatisch soprano and has been heard in important theatres including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Milan, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Berlin State Opera, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, LOpéra Bastille, Frankfurt Opera and LOpéra de Nice. She has won special acclaim for her Wagnerian portrayals. By no means limited, however, to Wagnerian rôles, she made her début at La Scala as Mme Lidoine in a new production of Poulencs Dialogues des Carmélites under Riccardo Muti. She made her début at Nice as Desdemona in Otello and at the Berlin State Opera as Chrysothemis in Elektra. A prolific concert artist as well, she has performed throughout North America and Europe in collaboration with some of the important musical figures of our day, including Daniel Barenboim, Maris Janssons, Seiji Ozawa, Kwun Chung and James Conlon.
