MARIA ARGHIRACOPULOS The mezzo-soprano Maria Arghiracopulos was born in Augusta in Italy, and began her musical training in Catania and then in Milan, continuing from 1998 with further study in New York. In 1998 and 2001 she won the Sergio Franchi Vocal Scholarship of the Eva Franchi Foundation in Stonington. She appeared as Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana in 1998 in Siracusa and in Giordani and Friends with Marcello Giordani in 1999. Her career has taken her to Holland, Ukraine, Russia and Germany in operatic and concert performances, with a growing repertoire ranging from Ponchielli and Verdi to Cilea and Saint-Saëns
