MARION NEWMAN The mezzo-soprano Marion Newman has performed with leading Canadian orchestras and ensembles. With Ireland’s Opera 2005 she has performed the title rôle of Bizet’s Carmen and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, with Pacific Opera Victoria Margret in Wozzeck and Juno in The Tempest. She has also sung Don Ramiro in Mozart’s Die Gärtnerin aus Liebe and Ericlea in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria in the Czech Republic and Germany. Her discography includes three discs with the Aradia Ensemble for Naxos: Vivaldi’s Sacred Music Volume 2 (8.557852) and Griselda (8.660211–13), Handel’s Rinaldo (8.660165–67) and Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit pour Noël (8.557229).
