MICHAEL GANN Born in Heidelberg, Michael Gann studied with Marga Schiml, Aldo Baldin, Hanno Blaschke and Richard Miller, among others. He made his début at the Ettlinger Schlossfestspiel and sang in the chorus of the Bayreuth Festival. After an engagement in Regensburg he was from 1993 to 2007 a member of the company of the Munich Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, with a series of tenor rôles, including Pedrillo, Beppo, Ivanov, and the Witch, as well as in operettas and musicals. He has made guest appearances in Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Augsburg, Potsdam, Bahia, Merano, Bolzano, Forlì and Klagenfurt. Since 2007 he has worked as a free-lance tenor, with appearances including the Munich Biennale.
