NEXUS was launched in 1971 with an entirely improvised concert and today continues to capture the attention of audiences in ways that excite listeners. Their innovative programmes, collaborations and commissions, have established the group as one of the premier percussion ensembles of our time. NEXUS has toured Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Brazil, Scandinavia, Europe and regularly tours the United States and Canada. During 35 years the ensemble has developed a unique repertoire and style of presentation for percussion music in both chamber and symphonic contexts. Over the past decade NEXUS has appeared with all of the major orchestras of North America. NEXUS members Bob Becker, William Cahn, Robin Engelman, Russell Hartenberger and Garry Kvistad gratefully acknowledge the continued support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, Pearl Corporation and Adams Musical Instruments.
