Frank Schilli, violin
Rolf Schilli, viola
Martin Merker, cello

The Offenburg String Trio was established in 1981 in Offenburg, the home-state of its three members. Since 1987 the trio has performed in its present form, with the brothers Frank and Rolf Schilli, violin and viola, and the cellist Martin Merker. Coached first by members of the legendary Bartholdy Quartet, the three players went on to study with Walter Levin (La Salle Quartet) in Basle and with Hubert Buchberger (Buchberger Quartet) in Frankfurt, attending mastercourses with the German String Trio and the Trio à cordes français and winning distinction in various international competitions. The ensemble has continued with concerts, broadcasts and television appearances throughout the world, and a series of acclaimed recordings.
