PATRICK WILLIAMS Patrick Williams studied the flute under Geoffrey Gilbert, Trevor Wye and David Butt at the Royal Manchester College of Music, during which time he was awarded the
Pernod Prize. Shortly afterwards he received his first solo engagement with the Ulster Orchestra, performing Bach’s Suite in B minor. He has been a member of the Welsh Philharmonia Orchestra and the Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet Orchestra as their Principal Flute. He has also appeared as guest Principal Flute with the City of London Sinfonia, Academy of London, Opera North and the BBC Concert and Radio Orchestras. His solo career has taken him all over the United Kingdom as well as Europe and Australia, and he has made some highly-acclaimed recordings.
