PIERRE PASSEREAU (1503 - 1553)
Passereau was employed in the musical establishment of the future French king François I. In 1530 a priest of his name (or perhaps nickname) is listed as a singer in the Sainte Chapelle of Bourges.
Passereau is chiefly known as a composer of chansons, many of them published by Attaingnant. He earns a tribute from Rabelais, who includes him in his list of joyeulx musiciens.
