Dubbed a “neo-Romantic marimba virtuoso”, Pius Cheng is widely known as a master soloist on is instrument. His career began with his groundbreaking recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, which was written about in a feature story in The New York Times. Since then, his performance credits include concerto appearances with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Opole Symphony, as well as solo recitals at Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center. Cheung is currently an Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Oregon. He is a Yamaha and Innovative Percussion Signature Artist.
