Born in 1984, award-winning Spanish artist Rafael Aguirre is one of today’s most celebrated young guitarists. Praised by international audiences and specialized critics alike, he has won 13 first prizes at the world’s most prestigious international competitions—a Spanish record. Recent highlights of his concerts include appearances at Carnegie Hall (NY), Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow), Palau de la Musica (Valencia), and the Glinka Hall (St Petersburg). Composers such as Daniel Real, Agustín Castilla-Ávila and two-time GRAMMY®-award winner Sergio Assad have dedicated pieces to him. An associate professor at the Robert Schumann Conservatory, Düsseldorf, he has collaborated with orchestras such as the Baden Baden Philharmonic, Malaga Philharmonic, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen and the Syrian National Orchestra.
