Jukke Rautasalo, cello

A graduate of the Sibelius Academy, after further study in Berlin the cellist Jukke Rautasalo gave his Helsinki debut recital in 1995. He has specialised in performance on the baroque cello and viola da gamba and has also worked as an orchestral conductor. His career has brought involvement with the Avanti! chamber orchestra and appearances with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and the Arnold Quartet. Since the autumn of 1996 he has served as third principal cellist in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
