REBECCA BROBERG Critics rave about Rebecca Broberg’s emotional intensity, physical and vocal stamina, commitment to text, and the warmth of her voice in performance and recordings. Particularly of importance have been her portrayals of heroines in Siegfried Wagner’s Der Heidenkönig, Der Kobold and Der Schmied von Marienburg, as well as her recordings of songs by Ludwig Thuille and Erich J. Wolff. After studies at the University of Pennsylvania and the
Peabody Institute, Ms. Broberg travelled to Germany to deepen her knowledge of the German operatic and song repertoire, from the Baroque to the contemporary. An upcoming highlight will be her creation of Margarita in the unique Ruhr opera Das Hexenfloß.
