ROBERT POMAKOV Born in 25 February 1981 in Toronto, everything has happened very quickly for Robert Pomakov lyric bass as he prepares to perform at the Queen Elisabeth Competition at the age of only 19. But behind him, he has all the experience of an opera singer and a concert artist. Since 1992, he has been a member of the choirs of the St. Michel school in Toronto. At the end of 1998, he began his training at the Royal Conservatory of Musics Young Artists Performance Academy, under Mary Morrison. He is now continuing his training at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, under the direction of Mikael Eliasen. At the same time, he has worked with the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio in Toronto and pursued several summer courses with Marilyn Horne and Marlena Malas. This eclectic background has allowed him to study the roles of Colline in La Bohème, of Arkel in Pelléas and Mélisande, of Quince in A Midsummer Nights Dream (Britten), of Masetto in Don Giovanni and of Antonio in The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, all under the direction of Richard Bradshaw.
