ROGER WIESMEYER A Nashville native, Roger Wiesmeyer began playing the piano at the age of four and oboe at ten. He studied oboe with John de Lancie and Richard Woodhams at the Curtis Institute of Music. Upon graduation, he played oboe in the Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Honolulu symphonies. He joined the Nashville Symphony as English hornist in 2001. In addition to teaching at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, of which he is an alumnus, he is a charter member of the chamber music group, ALIAS.
