Ralf Sauerbrey undertook vocal studies in Italy with Gianni Raimondi, Pier Miranda Ferraro, Leone Magiera and Carlo Bergonzi. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including first prize in the international vocal competition of Taranto in 2001. He has sung at the Prague State Opera, in the opera houses of Reggio Emilia, Forlì, Fidenza, Palma de Mallorca, Schwerin, Dessau, Odessa and Dnjepropetrovsk, where he sang Don Giovanni, Belcore, Nabucco, Amonasro, Falstaff, Scarpia, Gianni Schicchi, and Escamillo, as well as the title rôle in Krenek’s Diktator. For the pianopianissimomusiktheater he sang Willekin in Der Schmied von Marienburg [Marco Polo 8.225346–48].
