JENS SCHOU

Jens Schou trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (debut concert in 1972), with further studies in Vienna. In 1972 he was awarded the Artist’s Prize of the Danish Music Critics. Member of the Odense Symphony Orchestra 1969–88, from 1981 as solo clarinetist. Since 1988 he has been a lecturer at the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Odense, and since 1999 has taught at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Member of the trio LIN ensemble since 1990; extensive concert activities and recordings—most recently the CD Breath and Wings with music for solo clarinet by among others Per Nørgård and Jens Schou (Dacapo 8.226507).
