JEFFREY SILBERSCHLAG Jeffrey Silberschlag has appeared as trumpet soloist throughout Europe, the United States and Israel. He has performed with many of the world’s leading musicians, and composers Morton Gould, William Thomas McKinley, Paul Chihara, Robert Hall Lewis, Lorenzo Ferrero and James Cohn have all written pieces for him. Silberschlag has held the position of principal trumpet with the Italian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra, Turin, the New York City Opera – National Company, and the Jerusalem Symphony. As a trumpet soloist he can be heard on Delos, MMC and Crystal. He has also appeared as a conductor with major orchestras in the United States and abroad, and has directed premières of works by such composers as Morton Gould, Lorenzo Ferrero, Ludovico Einaudi, Paul Chihara, Chou Wen-Chung, David Froom, Kenji Bunch, Judith Shatin, Scott Wheeler, Nathan Lincoln-DeCusatis, Lou Karchin, Vivian Aldenberg Rudow, and William Thomas McKinley. Jeffrey Silberschlag serves as artistic director and head of music performance at St Mary’s College of Maryland, and is the Steven Muller Distinguished Professor in the Arts. Additionally, he is the music director of the Chesapeake Chamber Orchestra, President of the St Mary’s County Arts Council and on the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Youth Symphony.
