NICOLAS TULLIEZ

Born in Paris, Nicolas Tulliez moved to the Juilliard School in New York after his scientific studies, graduating as a pupil of Nancy Allen. Thereafter he continued his studies in Canada with Judy Loman and was awarded the prize of the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music. His first and successful engagement as harpist in the Chamber Orchestra of Toronto was followed by a return to the United States for a further degree at Yale University. He has appeared in several famous festivals, including Tanglewood, Aspen, and the Pacific Music Festival in Japan. A prizewinner in a number of international competitions, he now performs regularly in Europe and in North America. He is now a principal harpist in the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and also appears with other great orchestras, including the Orchestre de Paris, Berlin Philharmonic, and Bavarian Radio Orchestras. He is often involved in first performances for IRCAM in Paris and has recorded for a number of major companies.
