Twyla Robinson has performed with many of the world's leading conductors and orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra with Franz Welser-Möst, the London Symphony with Bernard Haitinik, San Francisco Symphony with Michael Tilson Thomas, Atlanta Symphony with Robert Spano and Donald Runnicles, and Los Angeles Philharmonic with Esa Pekka Salonen. Performances have included Strauss's Four Last Songs with the ballet of the Paris Opéra and her début with the Philadelphia Orchestra singing Mahler's Das klagende Lied with Vladimir Jurowski conducting. As an opera singer she has won particular acclaim for her portrayals of Mozart heroines, and she is a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Equally active as a recitalist, Twyla Robinson sang Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn as part of San Francisco Opera's 2002–03 Song Recital Series. She made her début at Carnegie Hall in 2004, joining Marilyn Horne and other world-renowned artists in a gala concert celebrating the venerable mezzo-soprano's seventieth birthday.
