UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA WIND ENSEMBLE The UGA Wind Ensemble is committed to presenting to its audiences passionate and artistic performances of a broad range of high quality repertoire from around the globe while preparing the future musical leaders of America. A flexible medium, the wind ensemble performs works for 80 players to eight composed from the Middle Ages to tomorrow. The ensemble subscribes to a new band sound whose ideals include clarity, color and resonance. The University of Georgia Wind Ensemble is among the leading ensembles of its kind and is a part of the UGA Band Program that enjoys a tradition of excellence spanning over a century. With a special focus on commissioning the rising stars of composition, the wind ensemble promotes an avid interest in the wind band medium by composers and listeners alike for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
