UPPSALA CHAMBER SOLOISTS Originally established in 1978, the Uppsala Chamber Soloists constitute one of Sweden’s best-known chamber ensembles. The permanent members devote most of their time to playing chamber music, and are also members of the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble has been noted for virtuoso musicianship, coupled with enjoyment in performance. They have been on tours all over the world, feature on several CDs and are frequently on the radio. The combination of six string instruments is used flexibly so as to provide an extensive list of performed works ranging from a single player to full string sextet, often with double-bass instead of second cello. The members of the sextet on this recording are: Nils-Erik Sparf, violin, Klara Hellgren, violin, Susanne Magnusson, viola, Diana Crafoord, viola, Lars Frykholm, cello, and Staffan Sjöholm, double bass.
