UTA HIELSCHER

Uta Hielscher was born in Tokyo and studied at the Munich Musikhochscule with Michael Schäfer, Monika Leonhard, Wolfram Rieger, Siegfried Mauser and Helmut Deutsch. She is a prize-winner and scholarship-holder of the Yehudi Menuhin “Live Music Now” (1995), the German Music Competition (1997), the Young Artists’ Concerts of 1998/99 and the Pavia International Chamber Music Competition (1999). She appears as an accompanist and chamber music partner in international concert series and festivals in Europe, the United States, Japan, North Africa and the Near East. For her recital début with Thomas Bauer in Kyoto she was awarded the Aoyama Music Award in 2003.

Her recordings include works by Schumann, Strauss and Mahler (Ars Musici), the complete songs of Engelbert Humperdinck (Oehms Classic), in addition to the complete songs of Schumann for Naxos.
