ERMANNO VEGLIANTI Ermanno Veglianti was born in Rome in 1966. He studied there with Vincenzo Mariozzi at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, where he graduated with the highest mark. He afterwards attended masterclasses with Gervase de Peyer and was awarded several prizes (Stresa, Cesena, Prague). In 1992 he qualified as a teacher of the clarinet in Italian conservatoires. Ermanno Veglianti plays as soloist as well as in chamber ensembles and has often performed Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, especially with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese. He is currently Principal Solo Clarinet in the Orchestra Sinfonica dell’Europa Unita and in the Orchestra Nuova Klassica and previously in the Orchestra dell’Istituzione dei Concerti di Cagliari, and the Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio. Since 1988 he has collaborated with the Orchestra Nazionale dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, and the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, taking part in concerts conducted by Giulini, Prêtre, Maazel, Sawallisch, Chung, Chailly, Gelmetti, Sinopoli, Gergiev, Nagano, Jarvi, Marriner, Gatti, Sanderling, Thielemann, Penderecki and others. He has also collaborated with Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, and recorded several concert programmes for Vatican Radio.
