VOLKER ELLENBERGER Volker Ellenberger, organ
Volker Ellenberger was born in 1964 at Osnabrück in Germany, and studied church music in Berlin with a scholarship from the Prad Foundation for the Musically Gifted, graduating with honours and several awards. He has also won prizes in important organ competitions. He completed additional studies in the organ at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels under Jean Ferrard, concentrating on early music, In Saarbrücken he studied in the master class of Wolfgang Rübsam, Since 1991, Volker Ellenberger's main position has been that of organist and choirmaster at St Johannis in Mainz. His concert tours have taken him throughout Europe, to the USA and to Asia, Ellenberer's wide-ranging repertoire is documented in numerous recordings and broadcasts.
