Born in Shanghai, pianist Jue Wang has been appearing in concerts regularly in China since the age of ten. The first prize and gold medal winner of the 16th Santander Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in 2008, he is rapidly attracting attention as a gifted young performer who has already made successful débuts at New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Wigmore Hall, as well as many prestigious venues around the globe, including in Hanover, Bilbao, Zaragoza, and the Salle Gaveau, Paris. His schedule includes concerto performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oviedo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the National Dominican Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of New Russia, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, under a number of distinguished conductors. Jue Wang received a master’s degree in 2009 from the Shanghai Conservatory and an artist diploma under the guidance of Marc Silverman from the Manhattan School of Music in 2010. He lives at present in New York, where he studies with Byron Janis.
