WASHINGTON SQUARE ENSEMBLE

The Washington Square Ensemble has been hailed as “one of the world’s most outstanding new music ensembles” (Fanfare), and cited for its “polished, lively performance” (The New York Times). As the performing arm of the Washington Square Contemporary Music Society, its musicians have presented over five hundred new works over the organization’s thirty-three year history, including almost two hundred New York or world premières. The ensemble, noted for its flexibility and close working relationship with living composers, is comprised of many of New York’s most esteemed instrumentalists.
