Anne Wieben studied in Minnesota and Vienna. As a mezzo-soprano she has sung in Così fan tutte (Dorabella), The Tales of Hoffmann (Niklas), Ariadne auf Naxos (the Composer) and in Der Schmied von Marienburg (Frau Madaldrut). She made her début in the soprano rôle of Donna Anna, and has sung the rôles of Fiordiligi, Contessa Almaviva, Agathe, Donna Elvira and Rosalinde, as well as Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes. As an interpreter of modern music she sang the world première of Five Mannequin Songs for Soprano and Chamber Orchestra by Clio Montrey.
