Hildegard Wiedemann studied singing with Thomas Moser and Sylvia Greenberg at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Munich and attended masterclasses with Helmut Deutsch and Céline Dutilly. The broad spectrum of her repertoire encompasses works by Monteverdi, Telemann and Handel, with contemporary works by Peter Maxwell Davies and Philipe Schoeller. Her numerous performances also include operatic engagements at the KomischeOper Berlin, the Telemann Festival in Magdeburg, the Kunstfest Weimar, the mdr Summer Music Festival in Leipzig, the BFM in Geneva, the Leipzig Opera, the Davos Festival and the Bucerius Kunstforum in Hamburg. As a mezzo-soprano, Hildegard Wiedemann has given concert performances with renowned ensembles such as Concerto Köln, the Akademie für alte Musik Berlin, the musikFabrik Cologne, the Ensemble Alternance, the Ensemble Avantgarde Leipzig as well as the Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, the Jack Quartet and the Camerata Salzburg. In her Lieder recitals she has been accompanied by Mitzuko Uchida, Philip Meyers, Gilles Vonsattel, Ulrich Naudé and Kathrin Dasch, and has performed together with the pianist and composer Steffen Schleiermacher in the Musica Nova Series at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig.
